Vaccination Incentive Program

As a university community our best defense against COVID-19 is to have as many people who are on our campus vaccinated as possible. In order to encourage students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated and to report the results to the university, we are launching a vaccination incentive program.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 1, and continuing weekly on Wednesdays for the following four weeks, random drawings will take place among all of those who have submitted their vaccination information.


 

Student Incentives

$1,000 Scholarships -- three per week
$250 Bookstore vouchers -- three per week
$150 Bookstore vouchers -- five per week
Meal plan for the fall semester -- one per week
Black & Gold Gala package -- one per week
$25 Gift Card -- eight per week
$50 Gift Card -- eight per week

 

Employee Incentives

Parking Permits -- five per week
Passes for fall sporting events -- four per week
$250 Bookstore vouchers -- five per week
$150 Bookstore vouchers -- five per week
Lunch voucher at dining hall -- 15 per week
Black & Gold Gala package -- one per week
Homecoming package -- 10 will be awarded over the course of the incentive program

Vaccination and Testing Clinics

There will be COVID-19 vaccination and testing clinics every Tuesday throughout the fall semester from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the James C. Wilson University Union. All three vaccinations (Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson) will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments or registration are necessary. The vaccination clinic is open to all students, faculty, and staff as well as the surrounding community.

Eligibility.
The WVSU Vaccine Incentive Program (the “Promotion”) is open only to employees and students of West Virginia State University who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry, who did not make any purchase or payment for the purpose of entering this Promotion, and who have registered their proof of COVID-19 vaccination through the university’s online portal. Students must be registered for classes for the fall 2021 semester. The Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.

Sponsor/Administrator.
West Virginia State University is the Promotion Sponsor and Promotion Administrator.

Agreement to Official Rules.
By participating in the Promotion, entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and Administrator, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion. Whether an entrant receives a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Timing.
Drawings will take place on the following Wednesdays in September 2021:
September 1, September 8, September 15, September 22.

How to Enter.
Those who have verified their COVID-19 vaccination with the university are automatically entered.

Random Drawing and Results.
The winners of the drawings will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries received. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the potential winners drawn and verified will be declared the official winners of the Promotion prizes.

Acceptance of any prize shall constitute and signify the winner’s consent that Sponsor/Administrator and its designees may use the winner’s name, likeness, and/or prize information in connection with the Promotion for promotional, advertising or other purposes, worldwide, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, without limitation and without further payment, notification, permission or other consideration, except where prohibited by law.

Acceptance of Prizes.
Winners will be communicated with through their university email accounts on Thursdays after selections have been made, and winners will need to accept their prize by noon (12 p.m. ET) the following Wednesday. All potential winners are subject to verification by Sponsor/Administrator, whose decision is final and binding in all matters related to the promotion. An entrant is not a winner of any prize, even if the promotion should so indicate, unless and until entrant’s eligibility, and the potential winning play have been verified and entrant has been notified.

Limitations of Liability.
West Virginia State University is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware, software, servers, etc.; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes.

General Rules.
All prize details shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of West Virginia State University. Any person who does not meet the eligibility requirements, as defined in these official rules and as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of West Virginia State University, is not eligible to win.

The winner will be responsible for any and all taxes associated with the awarded prize. Federal, State and Local taxes are the sole responsibility of the applicable drawing winners. All federal, state and local laws, applicable taxes, and regulations apply.

Prizes are nontransferable to any other person, including relatives or friends. Fulfillment of the prize will occur approximately within two weeks after the respective announcement date.

West Virginia State University, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to select and/or change the prize(s) to be awarded as part of this Promotion or end the Promotion prior to all prize winners being drawn.
