What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal law that protects all students, employees, vendors, visitors and volunteers of West Virginia State University (WVSU) from sex discrimination and all forms of sexual misconduct. Title IX covers all educational programs and activities at the University.

WVSU is dedicated to providing an environment that is conducive to intellectual and personal growth, while providing a safe and welcoming environment.
WVSU policies prohibit all forms of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of:
- Sexual violence
- Sexual coercion
- Stalking
- Domestic violence
- Sexual threats or intimidation
- Sexual harassment
- Dating and intimate partner violence
