First Year Academic Advising Center

Your Resource for Setting Academic Goals, Developing an Educational Plan and Selecting Courses
 
Designed specifically to assist freshmen and undecided majors, the First Year Academic Advising Center (FYAAC) is committed to furthering the academic success of our students. 
 
Advising provides accurate course selection, explores degree programs, suggests student resources, and follows university policies/procedures to help students achieve their academic goals and succeed. Schedule an appointment to help you begin your educational plan. The FYAAC is open year-round.

Services Available at FYAAC


FYAAC's advising team has many years of experience with WVSU students, and the staff is ready to provide academic advising services for the following:

  • Freshmen (all students that have earned 0-29 credit hours) on campus.
  • CTC Transfer Students who are in the “Straight to State” program (all students that have earned 0-60 credit hours).
  • Online program students who are needing various assistance in class registration.
  • undecided majors
  • Students in their specific major areas (all students that have earned 30 or more credit hours). The academic advisement process helps develop the relationship between students and their assigned advisors.
