Watch episode 1 of "Athens Black Wall Street" and a presentation by Dr. T. Ford Ahmed, Professor Emeritus, formerly of the Communications Department at WVSU. The Mt. Zion Baptist Church Preservation Society is attempting to save selected buildings in Athens, Ohio, located in the Black community that generated Black pride and community involvement. In 1974, the famous Berry Hotel was destroyed. Dr. Ford Ahmed currently is the Communications Director for the Society. This group's project was written up in the NEA Magazine titled American Artscape. The article's title is "Let Black Voices Ring Again." Food will be served.
