Come and tap into Chuck’s insight from 40+ years of professional musicianship while he highlights the techniques he used to survive as an artist in America today. Chuck will demonstrate compositional techniques for film and other media available to beginners and well-seasoned music creators. He will talk about how individuals can join in on making their own music for media. This presentation features a full band performance of various types of music and composition techniques.
Bio-In addition to performing with artists like, Ann Magnuson, Rita Moreno, Marvin Hamlisch, Shirley Jones, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Chuck has trained musicians to work as sidemen in the world’s best bands and with world class artists including , Ray Charles, David Bowie, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Olivia Newton-John, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Meat Loaf, Missing Persons,  and many more. One of Chuck's students was nominated for a Grammy and performed with David Byrne on a recent world tour, another is the bass player for Keith Urban. 
Chuck’s work as a music creator can be heard in a multitude of well received films including "Mine Wars" by Director Bill Richardson (American Pickers consultant) which is now archived in the United States Library of Congress and the Danial Boyd documentaries "Red Salt & Reynolds", “Ghosts of Green Bottom” and "Secrets of the Valley”.  As Music Director /Composer in Residence for the Charleston Stage Company he composed original scores for Sam Shepard's "The Tooth Of Crime", all of the Shakespeare Comedies, and much more. He has music directed a number of major musicals including Sondheim's Sweeny Todd, Townsend's Tommy, The Rocky Horror Show and The Secret Garden.  www.chuckbiel.com
