WVSU Psi Chi Honor Society Receives Model Chapter Award
INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University (WVSU) Chapter of Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology majors and minors, has received the organization’s model chapter award.
The WVSU chapter was the only chapter in West Virginia to be recognized with the award this year which is presented to active chapters who demonstrate communication and cooperation within their local community, their own chapter, and Psi Chi National Office by inducting new members annually, voting in the national Psi Chi elections, submitting activity reports, hosting a community service project, and promoting the discipline of psychology.
Psi Chi has 1,250 chapters at colleges and universities in the United States and 17 additional countries. This year there were only 34 Model Chapter Awards given.
This year is the 50
th anniversary of the WVSU chapter of Psi Chi.
The WVSU chapter has received two Model Chapter Awards.
