Blood Drive to be Held at West Virginia State University Nov. 7-8 

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) is holding a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross on Nov. 7-8 as part of the fourth annual Blood Drive Battle with the University of Charleston (UC). 

The Blood Drive Battle is a friendly competition to see which of the two Kanawha County universities can get the most participants to donate blood. 

WVSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters are encouraged to give blood between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 7 or Nov. 8 in the Wilson University Union. All who donate blood will receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last.

Appointments to give blood can be made at RedCrossBlood.org or on the Blood Donor App by entering the sponsor keyword “wvsu” in lower case letters. 

UC will be hosting blood drives on their campus Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The winner of the Blood Drive Battle will be announced at halftime of the WVSU vs. UC football game on Saturday, November 12.
