WVSU Extension Service to Hold Arbor Day Celebration Wednesday, April 27

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will hold an Arbor Day celebration on Wednesday, April 27 at 10:45 a.m. on the Barron Drive side of Ferrell Hall.

WVSU President Ericke Cage will make a proclamation declaring the day as Arbor Day on campus at 11 a.m. to be followed by a tree planting ceremony.

“Celebrating Arbor Day is not only a required standard for Tree Campus Higher Education recognition, but it is a privilege to preserve our beautiful campus by planting trees together and contributing to our community and local ecosystem,” said WVSU Extension Agent Liz Moss.

A Campus Tree Care donation webpage was recently established at https://give.wvstateu.edu/CampusTreeCare and is available year-round for those interested in making financial contributions toward maintaining campus tree care. The new webpage also contains information about WVSU’s Tree Campus Higher Education designation and virtual arboretum tour.

WVSU’s virtual arboretum tour is open to the public for individual and group showings. For more information or to schedule a tour, contact Liz Moss at (304) 661-6016 or anr@wvstateu.edu.
