WVSU Criminal Justice Administration Graduate Program Nationally Ranked

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration degree program has been nationally ranked by Best Accredited Colleges.

WVSU’s program was ranked eighth by the organization, which creates guides and school rankings to help potential students make decisions for higher education based on their personal goals.

“Our undergraduate program has been nationally recognized the last several years because of our experiential approach in teaching and we continue that strategy within our graduate program,” said Dr. Leighann Davidson, chair of the department. “All of our faculty have professional experience, so our students are learning the material while also developing field applications. Our department is honored to receive this ranking and strives to continue to provide the best education for the criminal justice professionals of today and tomorrow.”

Best Accredited College officials said it considered hundreds of institutions across the country and ranked WVSU using data around financial aid awards, the quality of education, faculty, campus resources, and more. Only nine schools across the country were ranked in the category as “Best Master’s in Law Enforcement Administrations Degrees.” WVSU was the only West Virginia college or university in the ranking.

WVSU’s Criminal Justice Department offers a hybrid graduate program as well as an in-seat and online undergraduate program. The programs prepare students for careers in the field of criminal justice and enhances the careers of those already in the field. The graduate program is designed to be completed in six semesters.
