Open Auditions for West Virginia State University Performance of “Aida” August 19-20
 
INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Open auditions will take place August 19-20 for the West Virginia State University fall musical production of the Elton John and Tim Rice Broadway hit “Aida.”

Auditions will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day in the Davis Fine Arts Theatre on WVSU’s campus and are open to WVSU students, faculty, staff and members of the community. Those auditioning are asked to come prepared to sing a song and bring their own accompaniment or sheet music.

Performance dates for “Aida” are November 20-23.

Winner of four 2000 Tony Awards, “Aida” is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love.

Previously, WVSU has staged musical productions of “Hairspray,” “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Fantasticks.”
