Criminal Justice Career Fair set for Oct. 9 at West Virginia State University

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host a Criminal Justice Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Wilson University Union.

This event is free and open to the public and all majors are welcome.

At the fair, employers will be available to discuss career opportunities within the law enforcement and criminal justice field, while students be able to explore their career options.

A variety of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are expected to attend including; the Boone County Probation Office, the City of Charleston, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Albans Fire Department, the St. Albans Fire Department, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, the West Virginia Division of Corrections, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, and the West Virginia State Police.

In addition to the career fair, there will be panel discussions at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Topics of discussion will include career paths, personal and professional stories related to the field and suggestions for student’s future career success.
