West Virginia State University Online Writing Program Named Among the Nation’s Best

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) online bachelor’s degree in English-Technical Writing has been recognized as one of the top online writing programs in the country by TheBestSchools.org.

WVSU’s program was ranked No. 15 in the country among all accredited online programs based on factors including academic excellence, faculty, reputation, financial aid and strength of online instruction methodology.

“As I have said before, neither size nor location will ever dictate our ability to compete and be successful,” said WVSU President Anthony L. Jenkins. “I commend the hard work of our English Department in adapting our curriculum to an online environment and delivering the high quality education that our students deserve.”

The online English-Technical Writing degree is a 120-credit hour program designed for students to develop critical reading and analytical thinking skills, while practicing a business-minded approach to writing. Students complete approximately 35-40 credits of general education coursework, while the remaining 80 credits feature a blend of electives, cognate courses, and core English classes.
