The month of April is designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Every year, West Virginia State University supports opportunities, events, and discussions to promote awareness and action. Denim Day, is a global campaign in which the donning of jeans symbolizes support for sexual violence prevention and education. Members of the Yellow Jacket Nation are encouraged to stand together by wearing jeans on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, for Denim Day, signifying support against sexual violence.

On April 25, 2018, the University's normal business dress code will be relaxed. Please note that staff required to wear uniforms as part of their daily work should continue to wear their uniforms but are encouraged to wear "Denim Day" stickers available in the University Union.
