Baseball, Football Both Take the Field Saturday, April 21

4/19/2018
INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- Tired of gloomy days filled with rain or even snow? Shake off that cabin fever this Saturday at West Virginia State University.

The boys of summer will be in action against West Virginia Wesleyan in a diamond doubleheader with games set for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

If you want to catch the baseball action from down the right field line you can easily stroll over to the football field and catch a different kind of hitting as the Yellow Jackets hold their annual spring game at 1 p.m.

The baseball team has won its last three games and is in a fight for first place in the Mountain East Conference South Division. The Yellow Jackets lead the MEC in both pitching and fielding this season.

Meanwhile football will be looking to replace several key players from last season's 6-5 squad. That includes at the quarterback position where former Hurricane star Austin Hensley is expected to take over.

Admission to both is free.
