West Virginia State University Criminal Justice Students Recognized at State Conference
INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University (WVSU) Criminal Justice students earned a variety of awards at the annual West Virginia Criminal Justice Educators’ Association conference Nov. 2-3 at the Potomac State College of West Virginia University.
WVSU criminal justice student Daniel Riggs won the undergraduate paper competition at the annual conference, which represents all colleges and universities in West Virginia that offer Criminal Justice as a major. WVSU student Kelli Elmore finished third in the undergraduate paper competition.
In the crime scene competition the WVSU “Justice League Team” finished third. Team members included WVSU students Candyce E. Melton, Jerome Vincent Willis Jr., Daniel L. Riggs, Kenneth C. Dodd, Adam Walters, Seth A. Stout, Cierra D. Hammond and Sierra N. Ray.
The West Virginia Criminal Justice Educators’ Association began in 1992 to help promote the exchange of educational ideas and coursework among the institutions of higher learning and criminal justice training entities in West Virginia.
