Charles E. “Chuck” Jones Jr. Appointed to WVSU Board of Governors

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Charles E. “Chuck” Jones Jr. has been appointed to serve on the West Virginia State University (WVSU) Board of Governors effective immediately.

Jones is a native West Virginian from McDowell County who graduated from Bluefield State College in 1968. Recently retired, Jones served for 20 years as the Executive Director of the West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management. He is an active member on the Thomas Health System Board, as well as the state Board of Pharmacy, to which he was appointed by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin in 2015.

Jones’ wife, Minnie H. Jones, their son and daughter are all WVSU alumni.

Established in July 2001, the Board of Governors provides oversight to WVSU on policy issues and affairs.
