West Virginia State University to Host Site Visit from Accrediting Agency April 13-15

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) will be hosting a visiting team from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools April 13-15.

The HLC is the regional accrediting agency for degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in a 19-state region that includes West Virginia.

The team will review WVSU’s ongoing ability to meet the HLC’s Criteria for Reaffirmation of Accreditation. WVSU was first accredited by the HLC in 1927 and its latest reaffirmation of accreditation came in 2005.

In advance of the site visit, WVSU is seeking comments from the public about the University. The public is invited to submit comments regarding the University to: Public Comment on West Virginia State University, The Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Ill. 60604-1411.

Comments may also be submitted on the HLC’s website at www.ncahlc.org 

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs.
Comments must be in writing and all comments must be received by March 16.
