Planned Giving Seminar set for Friday at West Virginia State University
INSTITUTE, W.Va. – A seminar will be held Friday, Oct. 4, at West Virginia State University (WVSU) on encouraging giving to non-profit organizations through a will or an estate.
The Planned Giving Seminar begins at 2 p.m. in Room 103 of the Davis Fine Arts Building and is free and open to the public.
Cindy McGhee and Nick Oxley of A&F Financial Advisors LLC in Charleston will lead the seminar.
“Making a gift through your will or charitable estate plans is easier than many people realize, and it is a wonderful way to ensure that the people and organizations you support during your lifetime will continue to benefit in the future,” said Patricia Schumann, Vice President for University Advancement and President of the WVSU Foundation Inc. “We’re grateful to A&F Financial Advisors for offering this free, informative seminar for our alumni and friends, and for all who would like to know more about this important topic.”
October 20-26 is Wills Week in West Virginia and Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has encouraged everyone to have a will and make certain that it is up to date.
Leaving a gift through a will to charitable organizations that someone supported in life is one way to continue to help organizations on an on-going basis that are making a difference in their communities, Schumann said.
Friday’s Planned Giving Seminar is sponsored by A&F Financial Advisors LLC and Leave a Legacy of Central Appalachia, and is part of Homecoming activities taking place this week at WVSU.
