Black and Gold Gala March 17

As the perfect conclusion to Founders Week, WVSU will host its Black and Gold Gala on Saturday March 17 in the P.A. Williams Auditorium. This year's theme "A Celebration of Soul" - Celebrating 50 Years of Motown" will feature the music first brought to life by the Supremes, Four Tops, Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye, and many others.
Individuals who have had an impact on West Virginia State University will be honored during intermission.
Honorees are:
Trailblazer - Victoria Wright and Casey Guet
Staff - Dr. R. Charles Byers and Sheila Payne
Faculty - Brenda Wamsley and Patricia Wilson
Community - Betty & J.W. Spencer and Norma & Andy Johnson
Alumni Achievers - Dr. Reginald Lee and Opal Carter;
Legacy - Lee Ross and Dr. Stuart McGehee
Distinguished Retiree - Thomas McClure and Dr. Charlotte Giles
Humanitarian - Dr. Eric Coleman, Dow Corporation.
Tickets are $20 general admission; $40 VIP single and $75 VIP couple which includes a reception on 3rd floor of Ferrell Hall and preferred seating for the concert.
General admission tickets will be sold in the Union. VIP tickets can be purchased from David Stockton (312 Sullivan Hall ext. 5159.) Profits from ticket sales go toward scholarships.
