Mock SIP Drill on Feb 29
2/28/2012
To start the drill, the siren will sound on the WVSU campus, followed by a brief message explaining that this is just a drill and not an emergency situation. Upon hearing the siren, students, faculty, staff and visitors should proceed to the nearest designated Shelter-in-Place location. Once assembled, they will receive information on the drill and what could be expected in the event of an actual emergency. The event will last approximately half-an-hour.
The University will also activate its Wide Area Rapid Network (WARN) system which sends alerts to students, faculty and staff via e-mail, phone or text messages.
