"Courage to Care" Feb. 26 Program Topic

West Virginia State University will offer the "Courage to Care" presentation on college drinking and alcohol abuse by Dr. Carolyn E. Cornelison. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26 in the Davis Fine Arts theater.  It is open to the public.

In her powerful program, "Courage to Care", Dr. Cornelison takes a very realistic look at college drinking, taking responsibility, and recognizing what to do in situations where alcohol abuse occurs. Her program will educate about the warning signs of out-of-control drinking and how to help those with alcohol and drug related problems. Carolyn speaks from the heart, relating her personal experience as both a sorority member and student-athlete. Her conversational engaging style allows her to teach with stories and by example on the topic of drinking, and marijuana use.

The event is sponsored by Proud Eagle, Inc., and WVSU Research and Development Corporation. It is hosted by the WVSU Office of Mental Health Services and CHOICES Peer Educators.
