Features Martin Luther King, Jr. Re-Enactor

West Virginia State University's Seventh Annual Human Rights Conference will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2 in the theater of the Davis Fine Arts Building. Featured speaker will be Mr. Jim Lucas, a nationally recognized activist for human rights. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Lucas is known for his stirring and dramatic recitations and interpretations depicting the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  In his one-man show Lucas, who bears a strong resemblance to Dr. King, chronicles the civil rights movement through Dr. King's eyes. Like King, Mr. Lucas participated in demonstrations and protests to achieve integration in his hometown of Lake Providence, LA.
