Why Torture is Wrong and the People who Love Them

December 1, 2, and 3 are the dates for this student production of the Christopher Durang play "Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them" in the Davis Fine Arts Theater. Shows begin at 7 p.m. WVSU students will be admitted free with an I.D.,others pay $5.

The play made its world premiere at the Public Theatre in New York on April 6, 2009 and is making its West Virginia premiere at WVSU. The treatment is a savagely funny look at America’s growing post 9/11 homeland "insecurity" – complete with political extremism, shadow governments, spies whose code names are Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes and a minister who makes porn on the side.

The cast includes: Chelsey Davis, Scotty White, Jenna Skeen, Andrew Rose, Bradley Burke, Raynalle Rouse, Kris Casdorph, and Justin Skidmore.
