Transfer Agreements & Institutional Partnerships

West Virginia State University has made lasting partnerships and agreements with various institutions and programs on a national scale.

We seek these agreements and partnerships to provide meaningful opportunities to all students.

Through these established relations we can offer transparency in transfer articulations to give students more assurance in advance what credits will transfer, and what will meet degree requirements via equivalency, substitution, or elective credits.

These relations also provide key opportunities for acceptance into specialized programs at partnered institutional programs.

Agreements for Articulated Credit & Direct Equivalencies

What is Articulation?
Articulation is the process of faculty review and evaluation to determine whether coursework completed at one institution will meet requirements for admission, transfer credit, general education and or major preparation at another institution.

The purpose of articulation between institutions is to facilitate the process of enrolling students from high school or another institution both to and from WV State University.

Completing an articulated course, for a specific major or for general education, allows students to satisfy a university admission and/or graduation requirements prior to transferring.

West Virginia State University shall strive to eliminate barriers to transfer for credit and to support student transitions from one institution to another.

West Virginia State University has Transfer Arrangements &/or Partnerships with the following institutions:

ACM- Academic Common Market

West Virginia residents who wish to pursue degree programs not available in the state may wish to investigate the Academic Common Market and contract programs. Both programs provide for West Virginians to enter out-of-state institutions at reduced tuition rates.

West Virginia State University alumni may find the arrangements attractive when they are planning for graduate study. Contract programs have been established for study in veterinary medicine, optometry and podiatry.

The Academic Common Market provides access to numerous graduate programs.

Further information may be obtained through the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
