CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) has announced the lineup of speakers for the next session of its popular Lunch and Learn Series. 

West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host a public solar eclipse viewing event on Monday, April 8, the date of the upcoming partial solar eclipse. The free event will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is open to all WVSU students, faculty and staff as well as the general public.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) is launching a new speaker series focused on public leadership to be moderated by WVSU President Ericke S. Cage. The premiere Conversations on Leadership event will take place on Monday, April 8, at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a conversation between President Cage and Marshall University President Brad D. The Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health has awarded a $305,000 grant for the establishment of a new nursing scholarship program at West Virginia State University (WVSU).

The 10th annual West Virginia State University (WVSU) Black & Gold Gala will take place, Friday, April 12, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. The black tie event recognizes the generosity of donors while raising funds to further support educational programs and students at the university. 

After a national search, Dr. Lee Young has been named West Virginia State University’s new Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Dr. Young will officially join the university on Feb. 5.

The State Capitol building will be swarmed by hundreds of Yellow Jackets on Thursday, Feb. 15, for the annual West Virginia State University Day (WVSU) at the Capitol.
