CREDIT BALANCE INFORMATION

The Office of Student Financial Aid authorizes all federal, institutional, and state financial aid on a student’s financial aid award. The Office of Student Financial Aid will authorize the aid to apply to the student’s account. The Cashier’s Office is then responsible for disbursing aid which has been authorized by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Once aid has been applied to a student account, the Cashier’s Office will issue any credit balances to the student within 14 days. Credit balances are issued in the form of a check. The check will be sent to address in which West Virginia State University has on record for the student. The student is recommended to contact the Cashier’s Office regarding all disbursements applied to the student’s account and credit balance information.

EMAIL NOTIFICATION POLICY

The official method of communication for the Office of Student Financial Aid is the WVSU webmail address provided to accepted students. To stay informed and aware, students are encouraged to check their campus email address at least once per week.
