Annual Increment
Employees who have three or more years of qualifying service receive annual increment pay in recognition of the value of their past and present service. The annual increment amount is $60 for each full year of qualifying service and is paid in July of each year. For example, an employee who has completed 12 full years of service would receive an additional $720 (from which normal State and federal deductions are made).
Dining Facility
West Virginia State University has a Cafeteria and two fast food restaurants, which are operated by a vendor and are located on the first floor of the Wilson Union Complex.

Faculty and Staff Housing
A limited amount of transitional housing is available to faculty and staff personnel. Guidelines governing their assignment are available in the office of the Vice President for Business and Finance. The primary purpose of the housing, however, is to assist new faculty and staff attempting to get “started” in our community.
Fitness Center
The University Union Fitness Center is a facility designed for students, faculty, and staff; providing quality opportunity for exercise. The facility is located on the lower level of the Wilson University Union. The fitness center offers a variety of equipment. A WVSU ID card is required for admittance.
All currently enrolled students are welcome to use the Fitness Center. A Waiver, Release of Liability and Consent to Medical Attention must be signed before first use.

Free or Reduced Price Program Possibilities
Certain cultural and educational entertainment programs are available to employees when showing their current WVSU Identification Card. There are times when WVSU employees enjoy a reduced admission fee to certain athletic events and/or other activities.
West Virginia Public Employees Credit Union
The State Credit Union is a West Virginia member owned, not-for-profit, financial
organization whose membership share the following common bond:

- Students Enrolled in State Supported Colleges and Universities and their parents

Library Privileges
The West Virginia State Library contains a significant number of volumes and periodicals for your utilization. Proper identification is required in order to check materials out of the library. WVSU employees may check out library materials for an unspecified amount of time. No fines are accrued for WVSU employees. If a WVSU employee needs a book or article that the WVSU library doesn’t have, the material can be requested using the free interlibrary loan service. Simply fill out an online submission located at this URL-http://library.wvstateu.edu/illloan2011.html. The employee will then be notified when the requested material is received. Periodicals cannot be checked out.
Over 60 desktop computers are available providing internet access, printing and scanning capabilities. Copying is also available. Printing/copying in black and white is 10 cents per page while printing/copying in color is 50 cents per page.

On Site Wellness Programs
“Yellow Jackets on the Move” offers free Yoga and Meditation Classes! Yoga is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm in the 2nd Floor Dance Studio, Fleming Hall. Meditation is offered every Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm in 111 Sullivan Hall, East!
“Yellow Jackets on the Move” also offers Zumba class every Wednesday at 6:15 pm in 134 University Union. Zumba is free for Students and $5 for Faculty and Staff. All fitness levels are welcomed!
Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
Employees of West Virginia State University may qualify for participation in the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Under this program, full-time employees can apply for forgiveness from certain types of student loans – possibly reducing or eliminating your debt. For additional information and forms, access the loan forgiveness website at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/repay-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service. Please contact your loan servicer to determine your eligibility under this program. Once you have your paperwork completed, please forward the documents for employment verification to the WVSU Department of Human Resources.

Recreational Facilities
There are recreational facilities in the Wilson University Union. As the Campus
Master Plan continues to evolve, more seating areas as well as outdoor recreational
opportunities will be announced.

Tuition Waivers
Employee Tuition Waiver
Employee Tuition Waivers (TW) are available to employees that hold a permanent, benefits-eligible (0.53 FTE and above) position. The employee must have completed at least six months of service prior to the beginning of the semester for which the waiver is requested.
Eligible employees are allowed to receive a total of 3 credit hours per semester.

Employee Dependent Tuition Waiver
Employee Dependent Tuition Waivers (TW) are available to employees that hold a permanent, benefits-eligible (0.53 FTE and above) position. The employee must have completed at least six months of service prior to the beginning of the semester for which the waiver is requested.
WVSU will waive $1,500 of tuition per semester for eligible dependents of full-time employees. Students who are eligible may receive this waiver for 8 total semesters or until completion of their first bachelor’s degree at WVSU. Students who receive the waiver must maintain a 2.0 or greater GPA and successfully complete at least 67 percent of attempted coursework to continue to receive the waiver.
