Physics department offers following research opportunities for students:
Planetary Science and Geology:
Students have participated in the research described earlier through the Research Rookies Program, SURE and NASA REA Grants. Students have then had an opportunity to present their research at international meetings such as the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.
Space Flight Design Challenge:
In collaboration with other West Virginia universities, WVSU students can participate in RockSat-C or RockSat-X programs. During the past few years teams of WVSU students successfully built payloads which were launched to space and collected data. Thanks to support from NASA WV Space Grant Consortium new courses to help students to learn necessary skills were created.
