Thomas Kiddie, Ph.D.

Professor

Thomas Kiddie received both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University, specializing respectively in Classics and Renaissance Studies (Platonism and Neoplatonism) and in nineteenth-century European, North American, and South American literature. His dissertation, Eros and Ataraxy: A Study of Love and Pleasure in the Fiction of Zola, Cambaceres, and Fontane, was published by Garland Publishing in 1988. In addition, Dr. Kiddie studied Computer Science and worked for Bell Labs/Bellcore/Telcordia Technologies for almost 30 years as a software engineer, technical writer, and business manager. His primary teaching responsibilities reside within WVSU’s technical writing program, and he has published several articles in the field. He is also a peer reviewer for Business and Professional Communication Quarterly. He is currently studying representations of masculinity in Hispanic, Anglophone, and Francophone Caribbean literature. Dr. Kiddie’s complete CV can be found here.
