W-Club

The National “W” Club has continuously worked to enhance the athletic programs at “State” by providing contributions for scholarships and equipment.

Welcome from the President:

Dear Friends:

The National “W” Club Association is honored to welcome all alumni and former Yellow Jackets back to campus. We appreciate your encouragement and support of WVSU athletics.

In January 2008, Hazo W. Carter, Jr. WVSU President Emeritus, designated the Canty House as the official headquarters for the National “W” Club. The National “W” Club has continually worked to enhance the athletic programs at “State” by providing funds for scholarships, equipment, and the purchase of a motor coach. Contributions from members and friends made all of this possible. Our recent $200,000 pledge to the fund raising campaign is being fulfilled in installments to the WVSU Foundation.

We know that under the leadership of 11th President Anthony L. Jenkins the “W” Club and WVSU athletic programs will continue to thrive. During the Homecoming fesitivities, President Jenkins acknowledged and honored the importance of the “W” Club to West Virginia State’s athletic programs and student-athletes.

Thank you for your team spirit and continued support to West Virginia State University and the National “W” Club.

Sincerely,

William “Billy” Lipscomb
President
