Reporting — Employee Reporting Responsibilities

At WVSU there are three types of employees: confidential employees, responsible employees and officials with authority.

Reporting — Police Reports

West Virginia State University encourages individuals to report incidents of sexual misconduct to Public Safety or local police. Timely reporting to the police is an important factor in successful investigation and prosecution of crimes, including sexual violence crimes, and may lead to the arrest of an offender or aid in the investigation of other incidents.

Reporting — University Investigation

All reports made to WVSU are taken with the utmost seriousness. Retaliation against any person for making a report or participating in an investigation is strictly prohibited. And remember, you do not have to make a formal report or press charges to receive medical care, academic or other support.
