WVSU 4-H Summer Programs
Below is information about our 2026 summer camp experiences. All camps are non-residential and will take place on the WVSU campus in the Integrated Research and Extension Building, located at 200 Avenue A, Institute, WV, unless otherwise noted. Drop-off and pick-up windows before/after the start/end times listed below will be available.
Yellow Jacket CyberDefender Day Camp | June 8-12 | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | WVSU Campus
This camp introduces the basics of cybersecurity. Campers will learn about digital security topics such as threat identification, authentication tools, cryptography, social engineering and networking. The program builds foundational skills and highlights technology-focused career paths. Open to incoming 7th-10th graders.

Mind Marvel Neuroscience Day Camp | June 22-26 | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | WVSU Campus
This camp explores the brain and nervous system. Campers will study brain anatomy, how synaptic networks function and how the brain perceives pain, responds to addiction and recovers from injury. Interactive sessions will help campers develop critical thinking and encourage discussion of current neuroscience and medical issues. The camp aims to foster meaningful dialogue, creating an environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry. Open to all incoming 7th-10th graders.
Engineer Your Future Summer Day Camp | July 13-17 | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | WVSU Campus
With this camp, participants will dive into artificial intelligence and engineering challenges; and learn about nutrition, food preparation, financial literacy and podcasting. Open to all incoming 7th-10th graders.

4-H Summer Day Camp | July 30 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | WVSU Campus
This one-day event will feature a variety of 4-H activities including Vex Go Robotics, Digitalis Planetarium, nature walk, nature collage, outdoor skills lab, gardening, nutrition, food prep, and more. Open to incoming 4th-8th graders.

Youth Summer Podcast Program | June 23-July 29 | 1:00-3:00 p.m. | WVSU Economic Development Center
WVSU Extension Service is teaming with the Positive People Association for a free, six-week summer podcasting program designed to teach young people the skills and craft needed for podcast production. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the duration of the program at the WVSU Economic Development Center, located at 1506 Kanawha Boulevard West, Charleston. Open to youths ages 11 to 18.
