New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation will introduce you to the traditions, expectations, programs and services of WVSU. It will provide you with the resources and access to the tools and information that you will need to have a successful college experience. NSO is the best way to begin your journey as a new Yellow Jacket.

New Student Orientation is a mandatory, online program. Completion is required for all new first time freshmen and transfer students.

If you have been admitted to the University, and have received your campus email address, you may access the online NSO for 2026-2027 by using the link below. https://orientation.wvstateu.edu/

In addition to New Student Orientation, WVSU will be hosting State Start 2026 events on campus during the summer months. State Start 2026 will provide you with the opportunity to learn more being an enrolled student at WVSU and how to navigate through your academic career at a Yellow Jacket!

Free Application for Federal Student Aid – Don’t forget to submit your required FAFSA application. Our school code is: 003826. If you need assistance with completing the application, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at ofa@wvstateu.edu to schedule an appointment, virtual or in person.
