At West Virginia State University, living on campus is more than just having a place to stay, it’s about finding family. In the Office of Housing and Residence Life, we believe every hallway, lounge, and shared space is a chance to build meaningful connections and create a true home away from home.
Through intentional programs and experiences, the Office of Housing and Residence Life works to make sure every student feels welcomed, supported, and part of our big Yellow Jacket family. From moments of laughter and late night talks to programs that inspire gratitude and growth, life in the halls is full of opportunities to discover yourself and create memories you’ll carry forever.
When you live on campus, you’re not just a resident, you’re family. The Yellow Jacket experience starts right here in our halls, where you can show up as your full self, embrace new experiences, and find your community. Explore the highlights below to see how we bring life beyond the room to every corner of the Nest.
West Virginia Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Cluster Conference 2024
As part of their annual Cluster Conference, the West Virginia chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. generously donated feminine hygiene products to support female residential students at West Virginia State University. Ms. Shelby Joiner, Director of Housing and Residence Life, was invited by Resident Assistant Diorre Robertson to attend and accept the donation on behalf of the Office of Housing and Residence Life. This meaningful contribution reflects Alpha Kappa Alpha’s ongoing commitment to community service and promoting the well-being of women.
