Robert "Robby" Moore

Arts Extension Educator

Robert Moore is the first art extension educator for WVSU Extension Service, collaborating with the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts to enhance community vitality and support economic development in the state’s arts industry. As a mixed-media artist since 1999, Robert has over 20 years of experience in arts administration across galleries, theaters and nonprofits. He holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Concord University and resides in Beckley, WV, where he serves on several boards, including Friends of WVPB, and is the chairperson elect for the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.

Ripple is the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts’ economic and community development program for artists and their communities. In West Virginia’s rural areas, artists play a central role in driving change. These artists are our culture keepers and innovators; we believe capital follows culture. Ripple’s long-term goals are to reshape the narrative in the field and elevate the value of artists in every community across West Virginia.

The Tamarack Foundation for the Arts (TFA) Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship (CEF) program offers entrepreneurship training and financial literacy education. This program assists artists in improving their business practices through mentoring, education and resources. Additionally, it provides experiences, connections, skills and relationships with professional artists and arts institutions in West Virginia to support the career goals of the fellows.

The Tamarack Foundation for the Arts is a nonprofit organization in West Virginia dedicated to supporting artists at all stages of their development. Through fellowships and professional development training, the foundation promotes emerging artists, assists mid-career artists and showcases established artists.
