Harini Swarna is an accomplished agribusiness professional who promotes economic development and entrepreneurship within rural and agricultural communities. Originally from India, she holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a postgraduate diploma in management, which equips her with a robust foundation in agricultural sciences, business management and economic development.
In 2023, Harini moved to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in agribusiness and applied economics at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo. At NDSU, she was a graduate assistant, contributing to critical research on agricultural market trends, land valuation and the economic factors impacting the farming sector, especially during the pandemic.
In 2025, Harini took on the role of Agribusiness Coach at WVSU Extension Service. In this capacity, she provides valuable support to farmers, agribusiness owners and rural entrepreneurs through her expertise in financial planning, market analysis and sustainable business practices. She aims to empower individuals with data-driven strategies to enhance profitability and ensure long-term sustainability.
Harini leads “Opening Soon, Inc.,” a comprehensive initiative to support entrepreneurs, startups and micro-enterprises in Kanawha County. This program emphasizes business education, financial planning, product development and marketing strategies, equipping participants with essential tools to launch and sustain successful ventures. The structured 10-week entrepreneurial training program provides technical assistance, mentorship and access to funding opportunities, complemented by workshops, peer meetings and networking sessions to encourage collaboration and deliver vital educational resources for entrepreneurial success.
