WVSU Extension Agricultural and Natural Resources (ANR) is excited to host the New Farmer Business Institute and Understanding Heirs’ Property Series every second Thursday from October 10, 2024, to April 10, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM at Sissonville High School’s agricultural education classroom, located at 6100 Sissonville Drive in Charleston. This free event offers a unique opportunity for both new and experienced farmers to enhance their knowledge and skills in the agricultural sector.
During the session, experts will cover essential topics, including evaluating farm business setups, setting strategic goals and objectives and understanding how to manage farm risks effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights to help landowners and established producers further develop their operations.
The series also addresses essential aspects of farming, such as farm tax preparation, market challenges and estate planning. Whether participants are just starting or looking to refine their existing practices, these sessions are tailored to benefit all levels of producers.
