INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host a workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 5, for those interested in learning more about the Fulbright Scholars Program, an international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government.
The free workshop will take place in room 122 of Wallace Hall from noon until 3:30 p.m. and is open to faculty and staff as well as the general public. Former Fulbright Scholars are invited to participate as well.
Grant Stream-Gonzalez, outreach and recruitment analyst with the Institute of International Education will lead the workshop.
Topics to be covered in the workshop include: The Fulbright is the most widely recognized and prestigious international exchange program in the world. Scholars are selected through open, merit-based competitions. Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 300,000 participants with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.
In the United States, the Institute of International Education administers and coordinates activities relevant to the Fulbright Student Program and Fulbright Scholar Program on behalf of the U.S Department of State.
