The workshop will cover the basic principles of aquaponic growing, a method that allows fish and vegetables to be grown together in a closed system. “Participants will learn about construction, operation and maintenance of small-scale indoor aquaponics systems,” said WVSU Extension Agent John Bombardiere, who will lead the session. “The workshop will include discussion of fish and plant selection and management, design, components and costs for systems, and potential market outlets for products.” The event is free and open to the public through support and funding provided from the USDA’s Office of Advocacy and Outreach Socially Disadvantaged Farmer and Rancher (2501) Program. To register, contact WVSU Extension Agent Brad Cochran at or 304-204-4021. Buffalo High School is located at 3680 Buffalo Road, Buffalo. Follow on Facebook and Twitter
