INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will present a free series of workshops to help beginning and experienced gardeners learn a variety of agricultural growing and harvesting techniques on Tuesday, May 24, beginning at 10 a.m. at Heritage Farm Museum and Village in Huntington.
The workshops will include sessions on topics such as small fruit production and alternative growing methods.
“We are blending traditional agricultural education, such as our popular bramble production and container gardening workshops, with instruction on alternative management practices like aquaponics, which is soilless culture with fish,” said Melissa Stewart, assistant program director of WVSU Extension Service. “We’ve seen tremendous interest in these topics throughout our service area and look forward to sharing them with the people of Huntington.”

The workshops are free to attend and are supported by the USDA 2501 Grant Program.
