May 20, 2026

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service is partnering with West Virginia Health Right to offer a free Youth Cooking Program this summer at the West Virginia Health Right Teaching Kitchen in Charleston. Students ages 12 to 15 are invited to participate in four days of hands-on learning, exploring food safety, nutrition and essential cooking skills.

The program offers two session options: June 2–5 and July 7–10. Each session runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily with lunch provided. Participants who attend all four days will earn a certificate of completion and receive a cut-resistant glove, kitchen thermometer, cookbook and a fresh produce box to take home.

Space is limited to 12 attendees per session. Registration and additional details are available on the WVSU 4-H Summer Camps tab at wvstateu.edu/4h.
