WVSU 4-H Youth Development Extension Educators Eli Ghareeb and Tiffany Ward received a specialty award for their work on the WVSU 4-H Lending Library, which opens doors to discovery.
The WVSU 4-H Youth Development team received a Communicator Award for Outstanding Social Media Package by a Team for its work on World Butterfly Day 2023. The team, comprised of Tiffany Ward, WVSU 4-H Youth Development STEM Specialist Vathani Amarasingham, and WVSU 4-H Youth Development Associate Ana Karen Gatica Toledo, was recognized for creating social media content that raised awareness of preserving butterfly habitats.
"Our 4-H team works incredibly hard to provide innovative and hands-on programming for youth. I'm thrilled that we have been recognized at the state level and by our West Virginia University 4-H colleagues," said WVSU 4-H Youth Development Program Leader Sara Price. "This is the first time in many years that we have won awards or had widespread participation in the state association, and it's truly a cause for celebration. We have an extremely talented and dedicated team, and I am so proud of all they do for West Virginia youth."
During the statewide conference, the WVSU team participated in professional development and relationship-building events with their colleagues from West Virginia University and had the opportunity to showcase their programs through workshops and a poster session.
