INSTITUTE, W.Va. — For the third consecutive year, West Virginia State University (WVSU) tuition will remain the same for in-state undergraduate students in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Non-resident undergraduate students attending WVSU will see a decrease in tuition for the 2020-2021 academic year following a vote by the WVSU Board of Governors on Friday on a proposed tuition and fee schedule.
“In these times of economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to make certain that we kept our costs as low as possible to ensure access to a quality college education for our current and future students,” said WVSU President Anthony L. Jenkins.
In-state tuition for undergraduate students will remain $3,330 per semester for the third consecutive academic year, while non-resident undergraduate tuition will drop approximately 21 percent to $5,699 per semester. Fees that undergraduate students pay will increase $100 per semester.
For graduate students, in-state students will also see no increase in tuition for the third consecutive year with per semester tuition remaining at $3,625. Non-resident graduate student tuition will also remain unchanged at $8,671 per semester. Fees that graduate students pay will increase $75 per semester.
Housing costs will remain unchanged from the current academic year, and meal plans will increase $66-$75 per semester depending on the meal plan option.
