West Virginia State University to Host “You be the Chemist Challenge” April 21

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host the annual Dow Chemical “You be the Chemist Challenge” beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 21, in the James C. Wilson University Union.
Students from 10 area middle schools will be competing in the challenge, an interactive academic contest that encourages students in grades 5-8 to explore chemistry concepts and their real-world applications.
More than 45 competitors are expected from the following area middle schools:
Andrew Jackson Charleston Catholic Clay County Elkview Horace Mann Hurricane Mountaineer Montessori Sissonville Stonewall Jackson Winfield Students compete against one another through numerous rounds of multiple-choice questions that test their knowledge of chemistry concepts, important discoveries and chemical safety awareness.
