The virtual event is for high school students interested in agricultural and environmental career opportunities.
Attendees will hear from university students, extension agents, researchers and others about academic, research, outreach and career opportunities at WVSU in the agricultural industry.
“As we continue to expand our agricultural academic, research and outreach offerings at West Virginia State, now is a great time for area high school students to learn how we can help bring their own career goals to fruition,” said Dr. José Ulises Toledo, vice president for research and public service at WVSU.
WVSU recently launched new degree options in agriculture and natural resources, with funding to provide full and partial scholarships to eligible students.
Participants in the summit will also learn about agricultural careers from professionals at various organizations and agencies, including the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Farm Service Agency and the U.S. Forest Service.
The event is free to attend for high school students and their parents.
