INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University will host a special presentation by Stuart Frazier, founder of Black Empire Productions, on The History of Black Theatre on Tuesday, February 17, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The presentation will take place in the theater of the Davis Fine Arts Building with a reception to follow in the art gallery located near the theater. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Frazier will present an engaging exploration of the history of Black theatre featuring selected monologues.
A local artist and producer, Frazier is committed to diversifying Charleston’s theatre community and promoting artistic expression. His work includes performances in “Othello” and “A Raisin in the Sun,” direction of “Inspecting Carol” and “The Colored Museum,” and production of “Black Women Supreme.”
