West Virginia State University to Host Free Screening of “The Tale” April 1

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Counseling and Accessibility Services will host a screening of the movie “The Tale” on Monday, April 1, at 6 p.m. in the Ann Brothers Smith Conference Room of Keith Scholars Hall.
“The Tale” follows the story of Jennifer, as she faces life-altering questions when a short story she wrote at age 13 forces her to re-examine her first sexual relationship and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive.
Based on a true story, “The Tale” stars two-time Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Laura Dern, Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, Jason Ritter, Elizabeth Debicki, Frances Conroy, John Heard and Isabel Nélisse. It is written and directed by Sundance Grand Prize Winner and Emmy nominated director Jennifer Fox. For more information, visit .

Representatives from REACH (Rape, Education, Advocacy, Counseling & Healing), and the YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program will be available for a question and answer session after the movie.
