INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) opened a new Yellow Jacket Career Closet today designed to provide students with business professional clothing for interviews, career fairs, formal events, or any career-related functions, both on and off campus.
The Yellow Jacket Career Closet is located in room 214 of the James C. Wilson University Union and is available to WVSU students by making an appointment with the WVSU Office of Career Services.
The new Career Closet was made possible in part through a partnership with Diversified Energy Co.
“I want to thank Diversified Energy for their on-going commitment to West Virginia State University and to our students,” said WVSU President Ericke S. Cage. “Diversified Energy’s generous donation will help ensure that when our students are preparing for a job interview, or to enter the work force, regardless of their circumstances they will have access to a professional wardrobe.”
“Diversified is centered around generating a positive and lasting impact on the communities where we work and live, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help provide assistance to WVSU students ahead of their interviews. Investing in the next generation of our workforce is critical to West Virginia and we're proud to play a small role in helping them as they prep for the next chapter of life,” said Rusty Hutson Jr., CEO of Diversified.
The Career Closet is available to all West Virginia State University students seeking to expand their professional wardrobe.
Donations of clothing items have been on-going in the weeks leading up to the opening of the Career Closet from WVSU faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and businesses. Donations will continue to be accepted through the summer.
