West Virginia State University Fall Commencement set for Saturday, Dec. 9

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – More than 185 students will graduate from West Virginia State University (WVSU) on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, during a commencement ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. in the D. Stephen and Diane H. Walker Convocation Center.
The commencement speaker is Dr. Morris Clark, a 1967 graduate of West Virginia State who is a retired professor and oral surgeon from Denver, Colo.
After graduating from WVSU with a degree in zoology, Clark earned his doctorate degree in dental surgery from the University of California San Francisco. He completed an internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia University in New York City. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Clark joined the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, where he opened a private practice and also became a full-time professor.
Clark has authored more than 200 manuscripts and six books on medical and dental literature. He has received an honorary doctorate degree from Lasi University in Romania. A wing of Lasi University bears the name The Morris S. Clark Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic in his honor.
WVSU holds commencement ceremonies in December and May of each year.
