INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will host a stakeholder listening session focused on the agency’s urban extension programming efforts Thursday, May 30, at 6 p.m. at the WVSU Center in Charleston. The session aims to gather community feedback as the organization looks to expand its programming initiatives throughout the region.
“Stakeholder input is essential as we refine and develop our programming portfolio,” said Kaysha Jackson, director of urban and non-traditional programming with WVSU Extension Service. “We encourage leaders, changemakers, and community voices to attend and be part of the conversation as we shape the future of our communities.”
WVSU Extension Service’s urban program area is committed to improving the viability, energy and economic sustainability of communities in West Virginia. Focus areas include community development, regional and local economic development, and small business development and revitalization. Current initiatives include downtown revitalization, historic preservation, green projects, community gardens, small business development and support, financial sustainability, non-profit development, economic analysis, disaster preparedness and tourism.
Refreshments will be provided at the listening session.
